15th Stop - Louisville KY

Blog Post #22 - Written July 8, 2025

Stay: June 6-7, 2025

For our quick stop in Louisville, Kentucky, we actually stayed at the New Albany Golf Course across the river in Indiana. They are Harvest Hosts/Boondockers Welcome, so we could boondock in their parking lot for free. It was drizzling when we arrived and we're not golfers, but we decided to take advantage of being at a golf course and rented some clubs and carts to play a round of golf together! I took one golf class at BYU and I've "practiced" at Top Golf a few times, so I'm basically a pro. Haha ;) But I did get a birdie on the last hole! We won't talk about all the other holes haha, or all of the poor trees that Megan brutally hit over and over haha! We had an absolute blast cruising around on the golf carts and the kids were golf ball finding machines! They jumped into every creek they found and amassed over 25 golf balls by the end!  Actually, I stand corrected, they didn't go into one of the creeks because it was guarded by an Alligator Snapping Turtle!
The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the kids found a bunch of wild black raspberries (all of which we devoured), this was a great fun little place to stay.

Megan teeing off on hole 1.                                                                                       The boys showing off their finds.

This alligator snapping turtle was huge. Probably about 3 feet long, tail to snout.                                         Fun course, especially with two carts to race around in :)

Ow ow! Megan demonstrating the proper form for proper ladylike golfing ;)                            The delicious wild berries we discovered next to our trailer.

On Saturday we went to the Kentucky Science Center in Louisville. Once again taking advantage of the reciprocity program of our pass (never going to stop beating that drum)! It was a lot of fun, even if we forgot to take very many pictures haha! We were too busy exploring and creating and learning!

This is a the entrance, pretty fun bug-eye concave mirror.

These KEVA blocks are just too fun                                                              The kids loved the construction zone, building extreme blanket forts

Practicing their meteorology skills on the green screen!

Late Addition: I found some more pictures on Megan's phone.
